This magnificent villa was built by a wealthy aristocrat, who made his fortune in the early part of the last century. With acres of coconut palm trees, and contemporary British architecture, the property retained in the de Zoysa family ever since it was built in 1907. It is truly an exceptional villa and known to everyone in the area as The White House, Yoga!

As you approach from the road, up the driveway from your weary travels you know you have arrived at an exclusive private villa, which is rare and unrivalled in the south of Sri Lanka. The villa stands tall with its Greco Roman white columns set within a 4-acre garden. It has been lovingly maintained, with its large collection of original antiques, art and crafts. There are polished hardwood beams and plenty of open terraces and sunlight passageways for you to relax in.

In the evening the frangipani flowers start to give a soft scent and once the stars come out the garden starts to twinkle with the fireflies. The villa has the unmistakable, intimate atmosphere of a large colonial home, with the resident owner hosting your stay. The maximum of 12 guests are well looked after by the dedicated staffs who are also part of the household.

Over the years our guests have enjoyed endless hours on the opulent verandah, chatting and taking in the local sights. You can watch the world pass by - the rolling ocean, the moonlit sky, village life and the passing trains bound for the city.
